Radiate positivity in the land of high fives and tie dye! I had the pleasure to design stage scrims for a couple of the stages at one of the largest music festivals in the nation, Bonnaroo.
The Which stage’s concept was designed to represent the transient nature of the stage performers and audience members. The wavy elements, different shapes and transitioning colors are loud, energetic and complementary to the melting pot of different music genres performed on the stage.
In 2017 Bonnaroo rebranded “The Other” as a complete electronic dance music and hip-hop experience. This was the place to crack some glow sticks and drop some bass.
The design’s mathematical line work and type treatment was blown out in a textual and organic treatment to mimic the stage’s new EDM/hip-hop brand.
The Other’s scrims were coated in a reflective spot UV varnish which allowed the stage to come alive under the full array of black light, fog, lights and various stage effects. Stay trippy.
A huge highlight of the project was seeing Preds fans catch game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final under my design work.
